This module models the generation and propagation of low frequency sound in complex duct networks. The frequency range is limited to the plane wave region in the connecting pipes. It is based on linear acoustic theory and all elements, e.g., a complex muffler, are reduced to two-ports while terminations and sources are represented as one-ports.

SIDLAB - Sound Propagation in Duct Networks

SIDLAB Suite is a combination of software and hardware solutions for the analysis and measurement of sound generation and propagation inside duct networks. This can be applied to Intake and Exhaust systems, Power generation, Oil & Gas pipe networks and HVAC systems.

HESSI Modal Survey FEM Verification

Navcon Engineering was contracted to conduct the modal survey of the High Energy Solar Spectroscopic Imager (HESSI) spacecraft. The primary objective was to identify the damped natural frequencies, damping factors and mode shapes in the frequency band between 70 Hz. and 170 Hz.

Validation and Updating of FE Models for Structural Analysis

During this FE Model Validation and Updating seminar, the participants will not only learn the basic principles of test-analysis correlation and finite element model updating, but also get hands-on experience using specialized software (FEMtools).

Zero-Position-Controller

The APS 0109 Zero-Position-Controller automatically controls the zero position of a vibration exciter irrespective of the payload. It is essential to employ a position controller of type APS 0109 especially when working with a vibration exciter without any integrated load compensation.
